The gospel unites us together into one family in Jesus Christ. Therefore we will not be content to see church simply as a meeting to attend, but rather as a community with whom we share our lives. We desire our life together to be marked with a genuine love for one another. We will sacraficially serve each other, freely forgiving and accepting one another in the context of authentic friendships. We recognise that this is only possible because we ourselves are eternally loved, freely accepted and completely forgiven through the sacraficial death of our Saviour and friend, Jesus Christ.

At one of our Gospel Communities

This year Christ Community West will have a special focus on:

• Prayer: We're reminded that apart from Christ we can do nothing. Therefore, we will seek to be dependent on Him and develop a 'lifestyle of prayer' among us. We recognise that prayer is not just a part of the work, but is the work! 

• Mission: Jesus gives us the privilege of making known the good news about Him to all nations. Given that most of us are not evangelists we will especially focus on simply being good friends who graciously point them to the Saviour who loves them. Our gospel communities will also be showing the love of Christ to our community by doing a free bbq and other acts of service on a Saturday morning at Rocks Riverside Park. Look out for us each fortnight.

• Spiritual Health: We deeply desire to grow in our love for Jesus. We especially need each other to help us pursue our joy in following Jesus. We are therefore encouraging each person to take the initiative to meet with each other informally throughout the week for the purpose of godliness. May we be a blessing to each other!
